Who we are...
The River Church is a small congregation of Jesus followers with a passion to love people, to listen to people’s stories, and walk life’s road together. In all we say and do, we want the name of Jesus to be known.
God is here and is in control. God's all around us and dwells within us. We believe there is no greater delight than experiencing God’s presence and trusting in that presence in our lives. Life, peace, freedom, and joy come when we experience and respond to Jesus’ nearness through his Spirit. Our prayer is that of Moses, “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here.” Therefore, we posture our hearts to be attentive and to fully trust in God’s presence in every aspect of our lives.
Learning Jesus way of grace and love is the process of transformation. We are convinced transformation happens by grace and love as we align our lives with the gospel, and ‘tune our hearts to see God’s grace. It is our desire to mirror the grace and love that we have received from Jesus as we engage with others in our communities. If we love others well, we are reflecting the creator's love we have been given.
Our church does not exist for ourselves, but to join God in his redemptive work. Jesus calls his church to be a compelling force for blessing in the world and we see ourselves as agents of God’s kingdom for the betterment of God's creation. We believe the church is at its best when it serves, sacrifices, and loves, caring about the things God cares about, and equips people with vision and tools for joining in God’s redemptive plan that is going on within our communities.
At The River Church, we welcome people from all backgrounds and at any spiritual level. Our functions and services are open to any person who is interested in, willing to come and explore who Jesus is and what Jesus has done. Our aim, in everything we do, is to join together in practicing the ways of Jesus with the heart of Jesus. We long to become more like him and help others do the same because that is ultimately what the world needs.
