As we look toward this coming Sundays at The River Church in response to the COVID-19 outbreak, we want you to know that we are planning to gather at Community Park like we normally would - with a slight modification... you will not need to leave your car. That is correct!
We have been busy brainstorming this week how we would be able to still gather together and be in community, while adhering to the guidelines that have been put into place to try and keep all of us healthy. And out of that, Drive in Church was born!
When you arrive on Sunday, you will be directed toward a parking spot where you will be able to fully participate in the service from the comfort of your own vehicle. The plan is for you to be able to tune in via your car radio! You will also be given a packaged communion kit so that everyone is able to partake in this precious time together.
A few things to keep in mind:
For everyone's safety, no one will be able to run around outside as there will be cars on the move. We understand that this may pose a challenge for families with little ones. And we understand!
We will be streaming the service via Facebook live like we have been doing, and we will post the service to YouTube once it concludes. So for those who wish to remain at home, you will be able to join us in that way.
We want to love your family well! For those with little ones, we will have Kids Activity Kits that can be delivered to your home. The kit will include the weekly lesson from our current curriculum along with an activity that can be done as a family. Also included will be a packaged communion kit with steps for you to follow if you choose to do so. And there may just be a little snack for your kiddos to enjoy during the lesson!
If your family would be interested in receiving an Activity Kit, send us an email (theriver407@sbcglobal.net) and we'll be sure to get one to you!!
For those who wish to stay home and do not have little ones, we will have communion kits available for you that we would be more than happy to bring your way! Just reply to this email and let us know!
How can we join as a community throughout the week?
One of the best ways that we are able to be together is through prayer. There will be opportunities for us to gather as one body during synchronized times of prayer throughout the day. A resource guide is in the works and will be made available on Facebook.
And as we approach Sunday, we look forward to joining together with you in whatever way works best for you. Just know that we are in this TOGETHER and you are loved!
